STATION II PRE-REGISTRATION FORM
The Bloomfield Recreation Department is offering a summer program for children with special needs called STATION II. The programming will have two (2) different levels, one will be a self-contained program and the other will follow an inclusion model. There will be a half day programs for 4 and 5 year olds and full day programs for children ages 6-14.
The following are descriptions and dates for each of the new programs.
STATION II – INCLUSION – This program will be designed for children ages 4-14. The campers will be with an age appropriate group at Oakview, Demarest or Forest Glen School. Parents are requested to sign up for this program if their children can work and play at least 50% of the time within the group setting and need a shadow counselor for the rest of the time. There will be three (3) sessions available: 1) 6/30 to 7/11 2) 7/14 to7/25 3) 7/28 to 8/8
STATION II – SELF CONTAINED – This program will offer the same schedule as the other program but with a larger staff to camper ratio and with adaptive activities. For first time campers, it is an excellent opportunity to learn the routine of the program and feel comfortable in a play environment. The program will be offered to all age groups from 6/30 to 7/11, 7/14 to7/25 and 7/28 to 8/8 with campers grouped according to age. Site location for this program will be determined after registration but will look to provide some mainstream activities with age appropriate peers. A half-day program will be offered to 4-5 year olds at Oakview School and a full day program for ages 6-14 at Demarest or Forest Glen.
This year will be a very exciting one for all of us. We will appreciate your help in understanding the unique needs of all of your children. We want all of them to have a great summer!
